Nintendo To Celebrate 100 Million Pokémon Trades With Fancy Pattern Vivillion

by Mike Futter on May 23, 2014 at 06:34 AM

Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have announced that approximately 90 million Pokémon have been traded since the release of Pokémon X and Y (our review). To celebrate the eventual 100 millionth trade, the duo are planning a giveaway for fans.

When the trade counter ticks past 100 million, players will be able to download a Fancy Pattern Vivillion. More redemption details will be available on the official Pokémon website once the giveaway goes live.

In order to help progress the global trade count, players can continue using the Global Trade Station (GTS). You can see more images of the special Vivillion below.

Our Take
This kind of fan service is what keeps players coming back. With over 12 million copies of X and Y sold, it shouldn’t be much longer before this special Vivillion is available.
