New Guardians Of The Galaxy Trailer And Its Connection To Disney Infinity 2.0
Marvel Comics' new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer gives us a good look at two characters who made a brief cameo in the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes reveal trailer. The characters of note are Rocket Raccoon, a genetically engineered bounty hunter (yes, he's as silly and awesome as he sounds), and his pal Groot, a lumbering alien tree.
You can see these two unlikely heroes in Disney Infinity at the 1:20 mark in the trailer below. The extent of their involvement in the forthcoming game hasn't been revealed yet, but with the film hitting the silver screen on August 1, and the game launching in September, there's a good bet they'll be featured prominently within it.
Our Take
Marvel Comics is on a roll with its movies and Guardians of the Galaxy is looking like an absolute blast. Yes, the idea of a talking Raccoon joining the same universe as Iron Man may sound like a bit of a stretch, but so are Hulk and Thor. In regards to Disney Infinity, Groot and Rocket sound like a great co-op pair. Here's hoping they get their own figs! I could also seem them selling Groot and Rocket as a single figure, with Rocket playing more of a Daxter-like roll.
