Modders Recreate The Experience Of Playing A Game Boy In A Virtual Living Room With Oculus Rift

by Kyle Hilliard on May 18, 2014 at 11:44 AM

Most Oculus Rift experiences aim to create something that cannot be experienced in real life. Modders have placed players behind the wheels of a Mario Kart and in the world of Ocarina of Time, but Shane O'Brien opted for a different Oculus Rift Nintendo experience.

In the video below, you'll see O'Brien playing the mod that lets you experience what's its like to play a Game Boy in a virtual reality space. You can also download the mod for yourself here if you have an Oculus Rift headset. O'Brien incorporated a Game Boy emulator modified to work in Unity to create the bizarre experience.
