Pokémon Art Academy Confirmed For U.K. Release

by Matt Helgeson on May 12, 2014 at 04:53 AM

Nintendo's new Pokémon-themed painting title for the 3DS, previously only confirmed for Japan, will be released in at least one Western territory.

According to a report on Eurogamer, Pokémon Art Academy will be released on July 4 in the U.K. It was previously confirmed for release in Japan in June. Although there is no U.S. release date at present time, this does mean that an English translation is being worked on -- a good sign for U.S. Pokémaniacs.

The game is pretty much what you'd expect - a classic paint title with a Pokémon theme. You can get a good idea of what it's like in the Japanese trailer below.

Our Take:
While it's not a done deal, I'd be shocked if the game didn't eventually come to America - why go through all the trouble of translating it to English just to release it in the much-smaller U.K. territory?
