World Of Warcraft Subscribers Drop Slightly, Warlords Of Draenor Has Already Pre-Sold 1 Million Copies

In today's Activision earnings call, Blizzard and Activision shared some subscriber numbers, which have dropped, but still are impressively high.

Last time we checked in on World of Warcraft's subscriber numbers back in July, numbers had dropped from 8.3 million subscribers to 7.7 million subscribers. The latest numbers show a smaller drop, but a drop none the less, to 7.6 million subscribers.

In more positive news, World of Warcaft's upcoming expansion Warlords Of Draenor, which will release by December 20 of this year, has already pre-sold 1 million copies.

Along with these details, Activision also noted that Blizzard is expanding its World of Warcraft dev team in order to accelerate content creation.

Our Take
Subscriber numbers are coming down since World of Warcraft's prime, but 7.6 million players is still very impressive, and it's likely many will return once Warlords Of Draenor release.
