Last Of Us Trailer Shows Off Final Wave Of DLC Content

by Jeff Cork on May 05, 2014 at 04:38 AM

Naughty Dog and Sony are delivering the final wave of DLC for The Last of Us this week, bringing new maps, weapons, skills, and a new campaign difficulty to the game. The companies have released a new trailer for the content, too, which shows off what it all looks like in action.

There will be five DLC packs total, including the grounded difficulty, reclaimed territories map pack, survivalist weapon bundle, situational survival skills bundle, and the professional survival skills bundle. Purchased separately, they'll set you back $28.95. They're also included as part of the game's season pass, which costs $19.99. That pass will only be available through the week of May 13, however, so you should probably make up your mind sooner rather than later.

Naughty Dog will be streaming the game's multiplayer component today on its Twitch.tv channel today from 12 p.m. through 1 p.m. Pacific, if you'd like to see more of it today.

Our Take
There's certainly a lot of content here, but I'm curious how the looming release of the game's PS4 version will affect player enthusiasm. Although that version won't include the extra weapons and skills in the package, it will include the maps and grounded difficulty. I'm certainly interested in checking out all the new stuff myself, but I'm likely to wait until I can do so on my PS4 – especially if I can get the game at a discount.
