Epic Teases The Future Of Unreal Tournament

by Matthew Kato on May 05, 2014 at 04:35 AM

Epic employees have started tweeting teases about the future of Unreal Tournament, which will be revealed later this week.

The company is holding a Twitch event on its Unreal Engine channel on Thursday, May 8 at 2 p.m. Eastern.

Included in some of the tweets from the likes of Mark Rein (Epic co-founder), Paul Meegan (VP of product development), and Dana Cowley (marketing manager) is the hashtag #FirstBlood.

Our Take:
At a time when the Unreal name has become more synonymous with the engines than the shooter, and with Epic dabbling with Fortnite, it's the perfect time to bring back the venerable FPS franchise.
