Series Creator Dashes Hopes Of Mortal Kombat On Wii U's Virtual Console
Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon recently made it clear on Twitter that we shouldn't expect to see Mortal Kombat on the Virtual Console any time soon.
RT @RickyV831 @noobde I know this is a long shot but are there any plans 2 release SNES versions of MK1-3 on WiiU Virtual Console? EB: 0.0%
— Ed Boon (@noobde) May 4, 2014
Responding to a fan inquiry, which you can see above, Boon said there is a 0.0% chance of the Super Nintendo Mortal Kombat games making their way to the Wii U's Virtual Console. Speaking with Gametrailers back in 2011, Boon showed interest in the Wii U's GamePad controller. His recent Tweet doesn't necessarily say we won't ever see Mortal Kombat on the Wii U – just that we'll never see the original Mortal Kombat games on the console's Virtual Console.

Our Take
This is a disappointment, but I don't think there was a much of an expectation of the games making their way to the Virtual Console to begin with. Boon's tweet is straightforward, without much room for ambiguity. If you were hoping to revisit the originals on the Wii U, you may want to start looking elsewhere.
