The lights are on
Minecraft is a bona fide phenomenon, and although it may not seem like a big slice of players, those of you looking to continue playing the 360 Edition of the game on an Xbox One will be relieved to hear your save will transfer.
Xbox head Phil Spencer recently tweeted:

The PlayStation 3 and 4 editions are also planning to allow a transferable save. Whether this will happen for the Vita version is still to be determined.
No release dates have been set for the new-gen or Vita versions of Minecraft.

Our Take:Backwards compatibility may not exist between the generations, but things like this are better than nothing.

I would love to see them place the creations from the 360 version and add to a much larger environment. I would be in heaven.
Good news for Achievement Hunter. Hopefully it will allow for the world to be expanded as well.
The saves will transfer, but that purchase sure won't! HEY OH! :P
While I don't play the game, this is actually very cool for them to accomplish. On a technical level, i have no idea the difficulty, but it is still quite a good thing to read. Many good things have been heard by me about this game, and not losing progress is always a major bonus.
kudos to Mojang and Microsoft on this one.
Nice!
WOOOH!!!
Maybe they can transfer the game too, or at least a discount would be nice.
... Well this changes everything.
If I still had a 360, this would be awesome. I have no problem starting over in Minecraft though.
Still waiting on more news or a release date though.
