Report: Rise Kujikawa Joins The Fight In Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

by Isaac Federspiel on Apr 23, 2014 at 12:03 PM

Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4 played the role of the announcer for Persona 4 Arena, but it looks like the sequel is changing that. She has been confirmed as a playable character in Arena’s sequel, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, according to Gematsu via Famitsu.

Earlier this month a Best Buy listing stated that both Rise and Ken Amada (from Persona 3) would be joining the roster of playable characters for Arena Ultimax. The listing has since been taken down. Gematsu’s report also mentions a new mode that will include character growth and social link building elements – main features of the Persona franchise.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is one of four Persona games that Atlus confirmed for a US release back in February. It is expected to release this fall on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Our Take
Some people were likely disappointed when they couldn't play Rise in Persona 4 Arena. She's a fairly popular character from Persona 4, even though she can't battle as a member of your party. It will be interesting to see how they work her into the fighting game.
