Reader Discussion: How Much Have You Spent On Free-To-Play Console Games?
With free-to-play making a big push onto consoles, especially during the PlayStation 4’s launch, we’re curious if the format has found purchase. Have you spent money on Warframe, World of Tanks, or DC Universe Online? More importantly, are you still playing these games?
Free-to-play isn’t just surviving on PC and mobile, it’s thriving. The options are diverse, and the player base is willing. We’re curious about whether console players are as enamored of the business model. When we asked you about your favorite free-to-play games, most responses were focused on PC.
With Planetside 2 coming later this year, and Microsoft starting to welcome titles like World of Tanks and Warframe, it’s clear there is interest on the part of developers and publishers. But are you going to open your wallet? Let us know in the comments.
