Reader Discussion: What’s The Craziest Thing You’ve Done To Get A Game?

by Mike Futter on Apr 22, 2014 at 08:15 AM

Forgive me if you’ve heard me tell this story before. I was mere hours late to pre-order a Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Chest. By the time I realized I hadn’t secured mine, the opportunity had passed me by… or it would have if I hadn’t been willing to drive three hours roundtrip.

When Borderlands 2 came out, I called every store nearby to get one. I ended up finding one unclaimed in New York state, so I gleefully got in the car and drove to pick it up.

Many of us have similar stories, whether it’s camping an eBay auction for a rare game, lining up days in advance, or selling blood to buy games (something I've now heard about from more than one person). What’s your craziest game acquisition story? Let us know in the comments.
