The lights are on
Hideo Kojima posted several pictures on his twitter feed showing that Japanese company Sentinel Co Ltd is creating an iPhone case that accurately resembles the iDROID Big Boss uses in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
If you've been playing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, you may have already downloaded the companion app. This lets players view the map and nearby enemies while they play, but also completes the iDROID look.
Sadly there is no hologram functionality, but the antenna can turn into a stylus, which is a nice touch. Kojima has not given any purchasing information as of yet, or mentioned if it will even be available online. We could not find any purchasing options on Sentinel's website, but did find this picture in their twitter feed that shows the case priced at ¥7,500 ($72).
Hopefully it does become available for wider release, because while it is silly and impractical, it is pretty cool. For more on Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, check out our review and our coverage hub from the March issue.
