External Storage For Xbox One Is "Coming Soon"

by Shin Hieftje on Apr 04, 2014 at 08:48 AM

The Xbox One currently only allows storage on its internal 500gb hard drive, but that may be changing soon, according to Larry Hryb, director of programming at Microsoft. Hyrb recently posted on the Xbox One subreddit that "External game storage is coming soon....I need to check on media support."

The information provided is vague, but hopeful. No details have been revealed about the possible external storage cap (The Xbox 360 had a cap of 32gb).

Our Take
It's good to know that plans are in the works for more customization for storage. Any change where the consumer gets more choices is positive, especially given the sizable games available for download.
