The lights are on
Bluepoint Games, the developer handling the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall, has finally opened up about the last-gen version. The developer confirms that the game contains all the same content as Respawn’s Xbox One version (read our review), but at a lower framerate.
Daryl Allison, senior producer at Bluepoint Games, explains in further detail in a blog post on Titanfall’s website. He says Titanfall on the Xbox 360 contains the same maps, modes, pilots, titans, weapons, 6 vs. 6 multiplayer, and burn cards. But due to the technical limitations of the hardware, the game runs “above 30fps”, though we don’t know exact numbers.
Originally destined to launch alongside its Xbox One sibling, the Xbox 360 version was delayed because it needed more work. Xbox 360 owners can get their hands on the game April 8.
Our TakeSome Xbox 360 owners may have been frustrated having to sit on the sidelines and watch Xbox One users smash pilots with their titans. But the wait is always worth it if it makes for a better game. Hopefully come April 8 the last-gen version of the game proves to be worth waiting for.
If it can keep a consistent framerate of at least 30fps I'll be happy with it.
I was curious to see what changes would be made for a weaker system like the 360. Sounds like they've made a good compromise with this frame rate drop. Time will tell if that was the right call, but I'm optimistic about it.
Above 30 fps is perfectly fine by me.
If this version has no screen tear, it'll be my preferred version over xbox one
Hopefully the framerate won't hurt the game. It's an amazing game on X1.
Halo ran at 30 FPS all those years and I had a blast with them so this is good news in my book.
Funny... I thought Microsoft was trying to sell Xbones, not 360s.
