Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Closes Out March Instant Game Collection

by Mike Futter on Mar 24, 2014 at 05:50 AM

Don’t shed a tear for the end of March’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection offerings. Instead, take up arms and skulk through the wilds as you hunt your prey.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for PSP (and Vita) rounds out March’s offerings. You and up to three of your friends can go online and loot, craft, and take on increasingly larger and more dangerous monsters.

Be sure to also grab Mike Bithell’s Thomas Was Alone and Vita launch window title Unit 13 if you didn’t last week, and if you have been procrastinating, today is your very last chance to pick up Mod Nation Racers Roadtrip for Vita.

This week also marks the sunset of Tomb Raider (PS3) and Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4) as part of the Instant Game Collection. Stay tuned, as we expect April’s titles to be announced in just a few days.

Our Take
Monster Hunter is an acquired taste that requires patience and methodical play. If you enjoyed Soul Sacrifice when it was available as part of the Instant Game Collection though, Monster Hunter is the series that pioneered the mission-based creature crawl genre. Give it a try and see if it’s for you.
