Dragon Age Keep Beta Invitations Going Out

With the fall release of Dragon Age: Inquisition on the horizon, BioWare is inviting players to test its solution for integrating important decisions from previous entries into its new title. Dragon Age Keep is the answer to the conundrum, and invitations are going out now.

The news comes by way of Fernando Melo, director of online development at BioWare Edmonton. “Friendly @dragonage psa: If you happened to signup for the #dragonagekeep beta, today is a good day to check inbox & spam folders,” he writes.

Dragon Age Keep will allow players to create their own world states that mirror the decisions they made in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 (if they so choose). This will create a more tailored experience for Dragon Age: Inquisition, which players can import upon its release.

You can still sign up for the beta on the Dragon Age Keep website (but don’t expect to get selected for this round). For more on Inquisition, check out our coverage from the September 2013 issue.

Our Take
Dragon Age Keep is an ambitious and sensible approach to the cross-generation problem. Beta testing is smart since this service needs to work flawlessly on launch day. Die hard fans won’t want to start a game that isn’t in their version of the world, which could hold many up from starting Inquisition.
