[Update] Microsoft Says Xbox Live Sign-In Issues Are Resolved

by Mike Futter on Mar 11, 2014 at 05:09 PM

Update: Xbox Live is still struggling, but Microsoft and Respawn are offering some tips for getting back online, and says the service is beginning to come back to life.

I personally just attempted to sign into Xbox Live and play a game of Titanfall and was able to get in without a problem. Hopefully others are experiencing similar luck.

Original story:

In what might be the worst possible timing for Microsoft, Xbox Live is experiencing sign-in issues. The company is going out of its way to assure players that this is not related to Titanfall.

“If you are having issues signing into Xbox Live, we are aware of it and actively working on the issue,” said Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb via Twitter. “This is not a #Titanfall issue.”

Microsoft has also acknowledged the problem on the Xbox Live service page. We’ll monitor the situation and update as more information is available.

Our Take
If Microsoft doesn’t repair Xbox Live soon, it has the potential to wash out positive momentum from the Titanfall launch. Put simply, these kinds of service problems can’t happen on the day of the system’s biggest game launch to date.
