The lights are on
Today saw the release of Titanfall's latest commercial which showed a Titan smashing up a real-life city block. The commercial is the latest release in a common practice of bringing games into reality in advertising rather than predominantly showing clips of the game itself.
If you've watched any sports television programming in the last several years, you've seen live action ads for games like Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, and several Call of Duty titles (the top image is from the recent Ghosts ad).
Do you like seeing a big budget, realistic take on upcoming games, or would you rather they show more gameplay?
dumb
They are the only thing worse than ads that contain only cutscenes and no gameplay whatsoever. Show us the game.
Their awful.
I have no problem with them unless they don't showcase the game then what's the point? Honestly it makes me more disinterested and makes me question the quality of the game itself.
Reality doesn't do anything for me - unless it's Nintendo mascots beating each other up. Because that's classic.
The gameplay is important, not who Activision hires to say they play Call of Duty.
The commercials tend to look cool, but I'd rather know what the game itself looks like. I sometimes wonder if they're trying to hide something about the game whenever the commercial shows as little real gameplay as possible.
I enjoy live video game commercials.
Any game ad that doesn't show actual gameplay is a waste of time. They may be enjoyable and flashy, but they miss the point.
They don't advertise movies by not showing clips from the movie.
I kind of like them. It's different.
Game commercials in general don't appeal to me. Just the fact that I already know what I am interested in and the commercials for me just don't do anything. If I had to choose though it would be gameplay over live action (Dishonored style with the song and gameplay).
I don't like them. I always feel that there's a disconnect between the game and the commercials. The ads never capture the look or feel of the games they're portraying.
I don't like them. It makes me feel like the developers are skeptical that their gameplay will look fun, so they'd rather not show it at all. You also don't get a feel for the game at all.
They are lame compare to say..the ones like halo reach and mass effect 3 which arent live but they look awesome.
Ehh, I'd rather see gameplay.
