by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 09, 2014 at 05:18 AM

Update: Raymond Cox didn't hit 1,000,000 Gamerscore during his live stream, but he came very close. He currently sits at 994,475 Gamerscore and plans to pick up the final stretch of 5,525 points on Monday.

Original story:

Raymond Cox currently holds the Guinness world record for the highest Xbox Gamerscore, and today he's hoping to close in on 1,000,000 points.

You can check out Cox's Twitch live stream here, which he plans on continuing for as long as it needs to go – even if it reaches 24 hours. After hopping around between games like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventure, Girl Fight, and the Deadliest Catch video game among other random games this morning, Cox currently sits at 986,475 Gamerscore points. Along with hitting 1,000,000 Gamerscore, Cox is also hoping to beat the record for most points achieved in a single day, which is currently around 17,000 points.

You can follow him on Twitter to get updates here. You can can also check out his Xbox Live account here.

We interviewed Cox in the latest issue of the magazine where he talked about the experience of having the highest Gamerscore, attending the launch of the Xbox One (where he received the Xbox One you see in the image below, as well as a lifetime Xbox Live Gold membership from Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb), and whether he will continue playing so vigilantly after hitting 1,000,000 points.
