The Call Of Duty US Championship Begins Today

Beginning today at 12 p.m. ET, and streaming on MLG.tv, you can watch the introductory rounds of the Call Of Duty US Championship.

Today and tomorrow's tournaments pit 16 Call of Duty teams against one another as they compete for eight slots to advance to Activision’s Call of Duty Championship in Los Angeles on March 28. There, 32 Call of Duty teams will compete for a chance to win $1 million. Play-by-play commentary for the event will be handled by assorted eSports personalities including Chris Puckett, Ben “Benson” Bowe, Alex “GoldenBoy” Mendez, Alan “Bricey” Brice, and Scott “Gandhi” Lussier.

Top eight advance to the Call of Duty Championship for a shot at $1 million and the title “World Champions”
 
This weekend, the top 16 Call of Duty teams in the nation will converge at the Major League Gaming (MLG) operated Call of Duty® US Championship at Full Sail University, the award-winning entertainment and media institution in Winter Park, Florida. The US Championship will be broadcast exclusively on www.MLG.TV starting Saturday, March 8 at noon ET and continuing through the finals on Sunday, March 9. Teams are vying for eight spots at Activision’s Call of Duty® Championship, presented by Xbox from March 28-30 where 32 teams from across the globe will compete for the title of “World Champions” and $1 million in prizes.
 
The 16 teams competing at the US Championship earned placement through online qualifiers via MLG.tv and the two-day double elimination tournament will be played on Xbox One. Teams include: Curse Las Vegas which includes three players from the winning team at the 2013 Call of Duty Championship; Team EnVyUs – 2nd place finishers at the 2013 Call of Duty Championship; Complexity – winners of multiple MLG Championship events; OpTic Gaming – fan favorites; Final Boss – including former Halo Pro players; as well as JusTus Pro, Strictly Business, Team Kaliber, FaZe, Curse NY, Xfinity Gaming, Denial West, VexX Gaming, Adversity, Rise and Denial East.
 
The US Championship kicks off Saturday, March 8 at 12pm ET airing exclusively on MLG.TV (mlg.tv/codchamps) via two streams. The first match ups include Stream 1: Complexity vs. Final Boss, followed by Optic Gaming vs. Denial West and Stream 2: Faze vs. Strictly Business followed by Envy vs. Xfinity Gaming. The complete broadcast schedule is available via MLG.tv.
 
Play-by-play will be provided by well-known eSports personalities including MLG’s Chris Puckett along with Ben “Benson” Bowe, Alex “GoldenBoy” Mendez, Alan “Bricey” Brice, and Scott “Gandhi” Lussier. At the end of the tournament, casters will reveal the 32 teams advancing to the Call of Duty Championship at the end of the month. In addition to watching the two action-packed streams, fans can follow @MLG on twitter for updates throughout the weekend.
