Weekend Warrior 3/7/14

by Isaac Federspiel on Mar 07, 2014 at 01:00 PM

A good section of the office's weekend plans include playing Thief and South Park: The Stick of Truth – probably also as a thief. This office might not be the safest…What games are you spending some time with this weekend?

Kim Wallace: I have some review games I'm finishing up, but I plan to dive into South Park: The Stick of Truth this weekend. I'm looking for something lighthearted and just flat-out fun, I have no doubt it will fit the bill. I'm also prepping for True Detective's finale on Sunday, have a feeling we'll all be talking about that for a while. The season went by so fast!

Matthew Kato: I've downloaded the new episode of The Walking Dead Season 2, and can't wait to finish it off this weekend. Not hard, but vying for time is Thief (which I'm stalking slowly and carefully) as well as the Super League Football pinball table of Zen Pinball 2. I'm not a pinball maverick, but I really like the SLF table. It's interesting because there are different phases you go through whether you're attacking or defending – not to mention the larger meta aspects like playing multiple matches in a season and your ongoing trophy case. Oh, and I also have to finish the Last of Us DLC Left Behind. I've been alternating between that and Thief, and given the stealth nature of both, I've been confused by the controls every time I switch over. A good problem to have, however since I'm enjoying myself.

Bryan Vore: I'm going to be digging through some more Thief this weekend on PC. My few hours of play time so far has consisted of a fair amount of settings tweaking to make it run well and look as good as possible. Anyone have any suggestions on features that take up a fair amount processing power, yet don't make much of a visible difference onscreen? I'd like to uncheck all of those boxes!

Kyle Hilliard: Any gaming time I have this weekend will likely go to South Park, or to watching my wife play South Park while I play some more Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on the Wii U GamePad. My wife also accepted a new job this week, one we are both very excited about, so we will likely try to take some time to celebrate in some way.

Cameron Koch: Over the past few weeks I’ve been slowly but surely climbing the ranked ladder in League of Legends. I’m on a hot streak at the moment, so I’m going to see if I can keep it going this weekend. Other than that, I’m looking to continue uncovering the truth in the excellent Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall DLC as my elf shaman. Oh, and I will also be dreaming of Titanfall.

Tim Turi: This weekend is all about Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. I know it got mixed reviews, but I’m a big enough fan of the series that I need to find out for myself. Additionally, I like the dark, brooding story that MercurySteam created with the original game so I want to see where it goes.

Joe Juba: I recently bought a bunch of computer components, and I'm planning to spend part of the weekend assembling them into an actual computer. Assuming that goes according to play, I want to start catching up on some of the cool PC games I missed over the last few years.

Andrew Reiner: I didn't finish Thief last weekend, but I believe I only have one chapter left. After that, I'm devoting all of my free time to South Park: The Stick of Truth. The humor in this game slays me.
