Respawn Details Titanfall Season Pass, PC Digital Deluxe

by Mike Futter on Mar 05, 2014 at 10:04 AM

This morning, we shared the news of Titanfall’s season pass. Now we know how many content drops and the price you’ll be paying a la carte and as a bundle.

The Titanfall season pass will cost you $24.99 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. This is a $5 savings over purchasing the three content drops separately.

The PC version will also be getting a digital deluxe edition that bundles the game and the season pass for $79.99. Both the season pass and the deluxe edition can be purchased now from the Origin storefront

Respawn has made clear that a season pass on one platform will not entitle users to content on another. If you haven’t yet upgraded from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, you won’t get to bring your season pass with you. Titanfall is out on March 11 for Xbox One and PC. The Xbox 360 version arrives on March 25.

Our Take
I think EA is leaving money on the table with the season pass decision. This is a disincentive to upgrading. EA would more easily sell two copies of Titanfall within the Xbox family if it gave users comfort in upgrading (or playing with their friends who haven’t yet upgraded). I’m just thankful it’s not going to strain the wallet like games with $50 passes.
