The lights are on
Sony Pictures is currently prepping the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for theaters this May, but Beenox has been quietly working on a film tie-in that will hit store shelves the week before the film.
Starting on April 29, web-heads everywhere will be able to buy Beenox's next open world adventure starring Spider-Man. The game lets players fight a series of foes from the film as well as the comics and will reportedly give Spider-Man’s nerdy photojournalist alter-ego, Peter Parker, a greater role in the spotlight. A new Hero or Menace system awards players with various trophies based on whether or not they nobly fight crime or let the city fester.
Those who pre-order the game through GameStop will receive four different playable suits including the Iron Spider, cosmic Captain Universe Spider-Man, the Spider-Man: Noir, and black symbiote Spider-Man suit. Check out the promo image below.

Our TakeI love Spider-Man, but some of his games have been sub-par. Beenox has managed to create some of the better Spider-Man games in recent years, however. The fact that the studio has had a two year break since its last game gives me some hope that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 might be good. At least we don't have long to wait to find out.

This seems pretty good, I'll give it a go.
If it turns out anything like the original Spider Man 2 this will occupy my time alongside several other games.
No scarlet spider outfit? That's too bad but if this game gets decent reviews ill probably by getting it, I havn't played a spiderman game since the ps1
I'll get the game. The alternate costumes look cool!
Well, since I'm sticking with my current gen for a few more months, I bet I could give this a go. There really aren't a ton of good Marvel games, just genre ones like Lego and fighting games. I think they should lease out for more games based on singular characters, like they did with Deadpool. Sure, that one in particular was a bit of a disappointment, but at least it tried with a character who hadn't headlined a game before.
Please be as good as Spider Man 2 was. Then I could die happily.
It seems alright. I just hope the stealth is a lot better than the previous one. I can't quite understand why Noir's stealth gameplay in Shattered Dimensions is a lot better than the one in The Amazing Spider-Man. That game released years later. Don't get me wrong, though. I've enjoyed the game (somewhat) when it comes to gameplay. The story, though, is a different... story. lol
Wow, RIGHT on my Birthday.
Why are they releasing pre-order content for it when they have barely shown off any of the game? Other than the Batman games, I probably won't be playing any more superhero games until they come out with an open world Green Lantern.
The FF suit is my personal favorite I wont be buying this or anything related to Sony's Spider-man movies so I don't really care that it isn't there but it would be cool to see that suit in an open world.
I hope the side crime events aren't limited or repetitive as they were in the first The Amazing Spider-Man game. Make them like they were in Spider-Man 2. But I really liked The Amazing Spider-Man and if they're improving on the first game then this game will hold promise.
As long as this isn't a movie game this should be good.
Symbiote Spidey? Spider-Man Noir? CAPTAIN UNIVERSE?!
Dang it, Beenox. I vow to myself to stay away, yet you somehow always manage to reel me back in...
Please be the next Spiderman 2!!
How awesome would that be if this turned out to be a really solid game like in the past.
