Report: New Shaq Fu Game Could Be On The Way
A couple outlets have gathered the mounting evidence that suggests a follow-up or remake of the dubious classic, Shaq Fu, is on the way. Sightings of new Shaq Fu-branded merchandise, along with a past statement from Shaq himself, have ignited the curiosity of gamers old enough to remember the odd 1994 fighting game.
Shaq confidently confirmed Shaq Fu 2's existence during an enthusiastic interview with GamerFitNation during CES 2014. The towering basketball player grabs the reporter into a headlock while promising that "The graphics look crazy".
This news from January is joined by a report from Joystiq regarding new Shaq Fu shirts sighted in the wild, sporting the slogan "Don't FU It Up!" The game has yet to be confirmed by a developer or publisher, but we'll let you know when we hear more.
Our Take
Shaq Fu is not known for being a great game; just check out the second half of this episode of Replay for proof. But if a sequel is in the works, then the slogan "Don't FU It Up!" could not be more appropriate.
