Criterion Offering Burnout Paradise Legendary Cars Free In Harold Ramis’ Memory

by Mike Futter on Feb 26, 2014 at 01:54 AM

This week we mourn the death of writer, actor, and director Harold Ramis. In memory of the man that many will remember as Ghostbuster Egon Spengler, Criterion Games is making the legendary cars for Burnout Paradise free today.

“Harold Ramis was a comedy genius,” the company said via Twitter. “He inspired us. To honour this legend, #BurnoutParadise #LegendaryCars are free today for #Xbox360.”

In that pack of four vehicles is the Manhattan Spirit, which is modeled after the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1. You’ll also be able to pick up cars resembling the DeLorean from Back to the Future, KITT from Knight Rider, and the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazard.

The pack normally retails for $4.99. You can redeem your car pack from the console or the Xbox website.

Our Take
This is a touching gesture, and the sentiment accompanying the news echoes what many have thought and said about Harold Ramis in recent days. He will most certainly be missed.
