Xbox One Media Remote Confirmed

by Matthew Kato on Feb 20, 2014 at 04:01 AM

Microsoft has announced that it is releasing an Xbox One media remote next month.

Among the expected controls that let you navigate the system's media functions are dedicated back and Xbox OneGuide buttons. The remote's buttons are also backlit. You can also control the power/volume functions of your TV/receiver via Kinect.

The remote comes out in early March for $24.99. Today's official announcement confirms an earlier retail product listing, but it is still unknown if that listing's March 4 release date is correct.

Our Take:
Looks like even Microsoft admits that it's not practical to use just the Kinect 2.0 to navigate around the system. Remotes it is, then!
