Shigeru Miyamoto Declares Four More Weeks Of Luigi

by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 18, 2014 at 12:47 PM

Nintendo's marketing push for the Year of Luigi officially comes to a close on March 18.

The year was meant to commemorate 30 years of the character and hosted the release of an impressive collection of Luigi-themed games including Dr. Luigi (above), Luigi's Mansion 2, and a Mario & Luigi game that took place mostly inside of Luigi's dreams, among others.

Nintendo is shutting down the Year of Luigi Miiverse soon, and is asking fans to leave comments for Luigi, but time is limited. In great words of Miyamoto in his post on the Miiverse, "All good things must come to an end, and the Year of Luigi will conclude on March 18."

Our Take
It was a good year for the man in green, but on March 19, his life will return to normal. I'm sure it was a blissful dream, those 365 days designed for him, but now it's time for Mario to return to the spotlight where he belongs.
