Microsoft Celebrates Forza Motorsport 5 With Free Add-On Track

by Mike Futter on Feb 18, 2014 at 08:32 AM

Microsoft has announced that Forza Motorsport 5 has become the fastest-selling racing game in Xbox history (measured by attach rate). The title is also the fastest-selling Forza title.

According to the publisher, over one-third of Xbox One owners have picked up Forza Motorsport 5. Players have raced more than 94 million times over 8 million hours. Drivatars have taken to the track for more than 1 billion races.

In celebration, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios are making the Road America track available at no cost. The raceway is integrated into the career events as a main event and a bonus.

Also available today is the Road America booster pack. This includes five cars and is included in the Car Pass. The included vehicles are the 2006 #2 Audi Sport North America R8, 1995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, 1968 Ferrari 365 GTB/4, 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1, and the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series. Our Take
Game selling speed is typically measured by numbers of copies sold in a fixed period of time (first week, first month, etc.). I’ve not seen it measured using attach rate before. The free track is a nice bonus for Forza fans, and the additional cars as part of the Car Pass are an extra benefit for those that have bought in for the premium experience.
