See The Evolution Of Computer Graphics Through The Eyes Of A Cube

Ok. Perhaps that headline is a little misleading, as most cubes don’t have eyes. However, this video from the one-man music project The Hamster Alliance, puts us in the perspective of the familiar shape as gaming history warps around it.

There are a number of clever nods to gaming stalwarts contained herein, so keep a sharp eye out. The references to Super Mario Bros. and Quake are obvious, but there are stealthier nods to be found in the nearly four minute clip. And, yes, the Virtual Boy is still as eye-searing as you remember.
