Nintendo Holding Giant Block Of Frozen Bananas Contest In Canada

by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 08, 2014 at 05:38 AM

Nintendo has put together a strange contest for Canadian fans of Donkey Kong Country to guess the number of bananas in this gigantic frozen block of ice.

You can check out the video below where they unveil the block of ice filled to the brim with bananas. If you can guess the number of bananas correctly, you win a free four-day adventure trip, plus a console, the game, and a handful of Wii U accessories.

Unfortunately, it's only open to Canadian residents, so if you live in the United States, but find that you are exceptionally gifted at counting things encased in giant blocks of ice, you may want to consider relocating.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze comes to Wii U on February 21. You can read our review of the game in the latest digital issue of the magazine here.

Our Take
I wanted to share this contest mostly because I thought it was very strange, but also to let Nintendo know that it missed a huge opportunity to work out some sort of Arrested Development Bluth frozen banana crossover promotion.
