Weekend Warrior 2/07/2014

by Shin Hieftje on Feb 07, 2014 at 01:00 PM

Unless you live in Southeast Asia or Central America or something, it’s probably not warm outside. In fact, it might even be pretty cold. We plan to stay inside, turn up the heat, and play some games. What about you?

Daniel Tack: Looks like a grab bag of Hearthstone, Magic: The Gathering Online, The Elder Scrolls Online, EverQuest Next Landmark, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Smite. Maybe I’ll fit a World of Warcraft boss or two in there. Perhaps a little Dark Souls too.

Kyle Hilliard: I finally finished Batman and grabbed all the riddler trophies (extortion packs in Origins), so it’s time to focus on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. I also randomly picked Super Mario Sunshine up for the first time in years. I don’t know if I am going to beat it again or complete it, but it’s the only 3D Mario that I never got every shine (or star [or green star]), so I might just keep playing it. Otherwise, it’s all about catching up on the DVR.

Tim Turi: This weekend I intend to pour some more time into Final Fantasy XIII-2. I’m having a great time with the battle system when the story isn’t sidetracking me with confusing time-travel nonsense. I also hope to put some more time into Bravely Default and finally finish Tearaway. Oh yeah, I started Broken Age and want to make it through that.

Jeff Marchiafava: Humble Bundle once again suckered me into buying a bunch of PC games – this time this time a bunch of strategy games from Sid Meier. I’ve been playing Civ V into the wee hours of the morning all week, and I suspect I’ll continue that trend this weekend. I also want to check out Hearthstone to see what all the fuss is about.

Isaac Federspiel: I’m hoping to spend more time with Hearthstone – hopefully I will actually get some new, useful cards – and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. There’s a couple people that I’ve been meaning to play in Hearthstone, but haven’t had the chance yet. I want to complete a few quests and unlock cards for my warrior deck (more pirates, please). Apart from that, I might check out Outlast, which I just got free thanks to PlayStation Plus, and continue my marathon of various TV shows.

Cameron Koch: Last week I said I would dive into Hearthstone. Now I’m here to tell you I’m officially addicted, so I expect I will continue my endless quest for better not-real cards this weekend. Besides that I plan on finishing up The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds in what has been a fantastic journey so far.
