BioWare Exploring Options For Dragon Age: Inquisition

by Matthew Kato on Feb 06, 2014 at 06:29 AM

Dragon Age: Inquisition developer BioWare is holding a playtest session for the game in the Vancouver area, and it's sent out a survey to potential players.

The survey asks about respondents' opinion on the series itself, other BioWare franchises, and games in general. One of the questions asks about players' opinion of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer component.

When we asked the dev team behind the game about including multiplayer in Inquisition for our cover story last fall, Mike Laidlaw, creative director, deflected the question and started talking about the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3. "...We were really happy with how that worked out," he said.

Our Take:
Taking a page from Mass Effect 3, perhaps possible multiplayer in Inquisition could find similar success if it remains its own fully fledged component that is largely not connected to the single-player experience. It could also be a way for players to remain interested in the game long after the single-player storyline is complete provided BioWare keeps updating the multiplayer mode.
