The Last Of Us Unmercifully Slaughters The 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards

by Matt Bertz on Feb 06, 2014 at 05:03 PM

In a year that featured amazing games like Grand Theft Auto V, BioShock Infinite, The Stanley Parable, and Dota 2, you would think that the voting field would yield a diverse array of winners at the 17th annual D.I.C.E. awards. Think again.

Like Muhammed Ali toying with his opponents in his prime, Naughty Dogs' The Last of Us dominated the competition, garnering 10 awards including Game of the Year.

On the night that Rockstar Games leads Sam Houser, Dan Houser, and Leslie Benzies were inducted into the AIAS hall of fame, GTA V pulled in one award for Outstanding Achievement in Gameplay Engineering. During the acceptance speech for the career accolade, Dan Houser made it a point to highlight that this award shouldn't just go to those three Rockstar figureheads, but to the hundreds of employees that make games like Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redeption, and Bully possible as well.
