You’ll Need A 64-Bit Operating System For EverQuest Next Landmark

by Mike Futter on Feb 03, 2014 at 02:26 PM

Earlier today, we shared with you our first impressions of the new NDA-free EverQuest Next Landmark. Shortly after that piece was published, the series’ director of development, Dave Georgeson shared some technical information on the game.

“Another News Flash: Landmark is going to have to be a 64-bit OS game *only*,” Georgeson writes. “We are going to be unable to support 32-bit OS as we had hoped.”

For many, this will not be an issue, but it could mean that you’ll need to consider upgrading if your system only supports a 32-bit operating system. In order to find out what version of Windows you’re running (and if you’re capable of running a 64-bit version), you can refer to this document for Windows XP and Windows 7. Our Take
In my experience, upgrading a PC usually hinges on one or two games that I really want to play. If you’re only capable of running a 32-bit operating system, you’ve got a decision to make. Do you want to play EverQuest Next so much that you’ll upgrade?
