Take-Two Has Over 10 New-Generation Game Projects, More Borderlands 2 Coming

by Joe Juba on Feb 03, 2014 at 09:55 AM

The company behind studios like Rockstar Games and Firaxis is already developing a healthy slate of titles for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as returning to Pandora with more add-on content.

The news comes out of Take-Two's third quarter earnings call, where the company reported strong sales overall, astounding GTA numbers, and the complete editions of XCOM and Civ V.

Across Take Two's studios, over 10 titles are currently in the works for new-generation consoles. Gearbox is also working on more content for Borderlands 2 to add to the already substantial offerings.

Our Take
It's no surprise that one of the most successful video game companies around is already knee-deep in development for the new consoles. However, the announcement of even more content for Borderlands 2 (which came out in 2012) is a bit more unexpected. On the other hand, the Borderlands 2 community has been enjoying the steady releases so far, so it only makes sense that Gearbox and publisher 2K Games would keep serving that fanbase.
