Zachary Quinto Signs On For Hitman Film

by Ben Reeves on Jan 31, 2014 at 01:34 PM

Actor Zachary Quinto, best known for his work as Sylar in the television series Heroes and Spock in the recent J.J. Abram's Star Trek films, just sign on to star in the upcoming Hitman film, based on IO Interactive's game series, tentatively titled Agent 47.

This film has already had a tumultuous development. Timothy Olyphant played Agent 47 in the original Hitman film, but Paul Walker was recast to play the titular killer. Unfortunately, after Walker's death the character had to be recast, and Rupert Friend, who plays Peter Quinn on the Showtime show Homeland, was given the part. We don't know who Quinto will be playing in the new film, but the movie is set to start filming in March.

Our Take
This sounds good to me. I've appreciated Quinto's previous work in both Star Trek and Heroes. Video game based films don't have a great track record, so I wish this production the best.
