New Vita Hitting The U.K.

by Matthew Kato on Jan 30, 2014 at 04:03 AM

The redesigned PlayStation Vita has been confirmed for a U.K. release, hopefully meaning it's one step closer to being announced for North America.

The slimmer Vita will hit stores in the U.K. in a "matter of days," according to MCVUK, who has received confirmation from Sony.

Among the changes for this new Vita (only available in the wi-fi version): It's lighter, slimmer, boasts a better battery life, has 1GB of built-in storage, and switches out the better-looking OLED screen for an LCD one.

In other Vita news in Europe – Sony has announced the 10-game PS Vita Indie Game Mega Pack for February. The games included are:

  • Alien Breed
  • Thomas Was Alone
  • Velocity Ultra
  • Men's Room Mayhem
  • Coconut Dodge Revitalised
  • Limbo
  • Hotline Miami
  • Total Recoil
  • Superfrog HD
  • Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD

Our Take
This new-version Vita is heading westward, and given Sony's pushing of the handheld as the perfect accessory for the PS4, I'm confident we'll be getting it too.
