Battlefield 4 Update Coming Late January Or Early February

by Mike Futter on Jan 27, 2014 at 02:01 AM

Battlefield 4 developer DICE has announced that a new update is in progress and will be delivered as early as this week. Included will be gameplay balancing measures and elements that will “enhance the overall multiplayer experience.”

The update will include stability improvements and fixes. It will also implement community-driven balancing requests, as we reported last week. DICE indicates that it will soon be sharing a list of items that are targeted for balancing, including DMR performance and anti-air weapons.

Our Take
The biggest improvement to the multiplayer experience that DICE could implement is a pre-match squad feature. The current process for joining friends is unreliable. Multiple times, I’ve ended up on the wrong team or the wrong squad. The time spent trying to get into the right place is time I’m not playing. Anything that can be done to ease this is a step in the right direction.
