The PlayStation 3 version of the game has been available for a little over a month. The game released on PlayStation 3 on December 17. The impressive sales numbers were announced on Mojang's blog where Daniel Kaplan of Mojang said, "We are super grateful for the support and we are very thankful for your dedication and I hope you will like the future updates we have planned for you."

Minecraft is still coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One, but exact release dates have not yet been announced.
