Reader Discussion: Where Does Handheld Gaming Fit Into Your Life?

There has been a lot of doom and gloom regarding handheld gaming in recent years. Many expected that game-capable mobile devices would supplant traditional offerings. While iOS and Android certainly have significant market share, the 3DS has performed admirably across segments gaming community.

The 3DS was the best-selling system in 2013, and Nintendo moved an astounding 4 million copies of the latest Pokémon titles in the first two days alone. There is still an appetite for handhelds, but we’re curious about how your habits have evolved in recent years.

Do you still purchase handheld gaming devices? If so, do you interact with them differently than you used to. If you split your portable time with mobile, do you have a preference for genres on one or the other?
