Rayman Coming To PS4, Xbox One A Week Earlier

by Jeff Cork on Jan 10, 2014 at 03:56 AM

We knew that Ubisoft's excellent Rayman Legends was coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month, but the publisher has announced that the game is hitting those systems a week earlier. They've also revealed a bit more about what new doodads will be coming along with the upgraded versions.

The February 18 release date (February 20, for you Europeans) was announced on a Rayman Legends blog post. The post includes a Q&A with the game's lead designer, Emile Morel. We already knew most of what he mentions, including special Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed, and Splinter Cell character costumes, but there are still a few things worth noting.

Xbox One players will get time-limited achievements, and PlayStation 4 players can use the DualShock 4's touchpad to scratch off the game's tickets. The PS4 version also supports the Vita's remote-play functionality. In addition, Morel says both versions eliminate load times when jumping into a level.

Our Take
I'm not going to complain about getting a game a week earlier, particularly when it's something as good as Rayman Legends. I had a great time with the original release of the game, and I'm looking forward to checking it out on my new consoles, too.
