New WWE Network Headed To Xbox And PlayStation Consoles

by Bryan Vore on Jan 09, 2014 at 07:01 AM

Last night in Las Vegas WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon announced plans for an ambitious new streaming network alongside executives and wrestling superstars Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and John Cena. The network includes 24/7 scheduled and live programming alongside on-demand videos and will launch on February 24 on several devices including PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360. The service will be available on Xbox One this summer.

At launch, subscribers who pay $9.99 a month (with a 6-month commitment) will have access to every pay-per-view in WWE, WCW, and ECW history, live and on-demand access to all future pay-per-views, on-demand weekly shows like Raw and Smackdown, new original series, and more. Additional content will constantly be added including a live daily studio show. Check out the demo below.

Other compatible devices include computers, Kindles, Android and iOS devices, Rokus, and eventually smart TVs.

WWE Network is online-only so don't expect to order it through your cable provider.

Our Take:
As a wrestling fan, this seems like a dream come true. For the approximate price of a Hulu Plus or Netflix subscription, users will gain access to an enormous library of content that will only grow over time and include constant live programming.
