Evolve Box Art Revealed

by Jeff Marchiafava on Jan 07, 2014 at 08:57 AM

We revealed the first details of Evolve in our February cover reveal earlier today, but development is further along than you might expect. Turtle Rock Studios and 2K Games have already finalized the game's box art, which you can see here.

Evolve's box art forgoes the standard "guy with gun" template most shooters adhere to, and instead features the footprint of the gigantic beast featured on our February issue. The faint shoe prints in the right-hand corner should give you an idea of the size of the monster, which grows larger as matches progress. Check the images out below:

As you probably guessed by the box art, Evolve is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Learn more about the game in the February issue of Game Informer, and don't forget to visit our Evolve hub, which we'll be updating throughout the month with lots of exclusive bonus content.

Our Take
Ken Levine stated that placing a gun-toting Booker DeWitt on the cover of BioShock Infinite was important for helping casual shooter fans identify what kind of game it was, but apparently that's not a problem for Turtle Rock or 2K. At the very least, Evolve's atypical box art will certainly stand out from the other shooters on the market – it also clearly conveys that the game has giant monsters in it, which is good enough for me.
