[Update] Video Game Speed Run Site Raises Over $1 Million For The Prevent Cancer Foundation

Update #3: Awesome Games Done Quick wrapped up its week-long video game speed run live stream charity event last night, more than doubling its initial fundraising goal.

More than 17,000 donors made more than 27,000 donations over the course of the live stream's 154 speed runs. In the end, $1,007,201 was raised to be donated to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Update #2: After hitting its first $500,000 goal yesterday, Awesome Games Done Quick set a second goal of $750,000, which it recently hit.

$763,740 has been raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and donations are still being accepted during the events final hours.

Update #1: Awesome Games Done Quick has hit its fundraising goal with its charity efforts, but it is still going strong and collecting donations.

Currently $543,960 have been raised toward the events $500,000 goal, and that number continues to climb.

Awesome Games Done Quick, a video game speed run archive website, is currently collecting donations during a week-long live stream in the interest of raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

You can tune into, and donate money to the live stream by heading here. So far $29,360.62 has been collected of its $500,000 goal. The event started today and ends on January 11. During the stream, speed runners will be making record attempts on assorted games like Pikmin 3, Cave Story, Banjo Kazooie, Bioshock, Resident Evil 4, the Mega Man and Mega Man X series, and many, many others.
