Mega Man X2 Available Now On The Wii U Virtual Console

by Kyle Hilliard on Jan 04, 2014 at 07:56 AM

Mega Man X2, the sequel to one of the best Super Nintendo games ever made, is now available to download on the Wii U Virtual Console.

Mega Man X2 did release on the Wii's Virtual Console, but it was very late in the console's lifespan appearing in the summer of 2012. The game is $7.99, but if you owned the Wii version of the game, it is available at a discount. You can check out the trailer for the nearly 20 year old game below.

Thanks to Nathan McLellan for the news tip!

Our Take
The Wii U's Virtual Console now has Mega Man X and its sequel, as well as Mega Mans 1-4. Mega Man X3 never released for the Wii's Virtual Console, and my hope is that X2's quick appearance means Capcom is having success with the platform, and X3 waiting in the wings.
