Report: Square Enix Open To A Final Fantasy X-3

by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 28, 2013 at 11:58 AM

The Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD collection has released in Japan, and alongside it released a book containing an interview with Final Fantasy scenario writer Kazushige Nojima who is open to the idea of a new Final Fantasy X sequel.

Siliconera translated an excerpt from the book as tweeted by @aibo_ac7 from FF-Reunion.net. When asked about the possibility of a Final Fantasy X-3 Nojima was optomistic saying, "If there’s enough demand, then we may possibly see new developments.” He also expressed a personal interest in a third Final Fantasy X game saying, “I would personally like to see a sequel like X-3."

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is coming to North American PlayStation 3s and Vitas on March 18.

Our Take
If there were to be a Final Fantasy X-3 – something I would certainly be open to – would it follow the somewhat silly tone established by X-2, or the more serious tone of the first game? I think I would prefer something a little more serious.
