Nintendo Direct Tomorrow, December 18

by Mike Futter on Dec 17, 2013 at 02:19 AM

If you’ve got a Wii U and/or a 3DS and want to know what you’ll be playing in the first part of 2014, you’ll want to tune into tomorrow morning’s Nintendo Direct. The live event starts at 9 am Eastern / 6 am Pacific tomorrow, December 18.

There are likely to be some game announcements, but we’ll probably also learn some new details about upcoming games. Expect to see Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart, Yarn Yoshi, Yoshi’s New Island, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, and Bravely Default.

Our Take
Some concrete release dates for major first-party Wii U titles would go a long way right now. Mario Kart has a lot of potential, as it’s a title that devout fans and casual Nintendo gamers can both enjoy with a low barrier to entry. I’m expecting big things from the Wii U portion, and with everything else so quiet right now, Nintendo could make a big splash.
