Energy Hook From Spider-Man 2 Designer Coming To PlayStation 4 And Vita

by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 14, 2013 at 11:16 AM

Jamie Fristrom was integral in designing the web swinging mechanic for Spider-Man 2, and his new Kickstarted game, Energy Hook, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Vita.

Energy Hook is not a Spider-Man game, but its protagonists share many of the Marvel Hero's special powers, like the ability to swing from energy wires attached to buildings, and the ability to run up and along walls. You can check out the video below for an overview of the game.

In a recent Reddit post, Fristrom confirmed that the game is heading to Sony's consoles. In the post, Fristrom said of Energy Hook, "I just signed with Sony to bring it to the Playstation Vita and PS4. So stoked." The developer for the game, Happion Labs, was also among the first to be accepted into Xbox One's ID@Xbox independent developer program, so there is a good chance the game will also release on Microsoft's consoles.

Our Take
Energy Hook is still very early in development, but I am excited at the prospect of swinging through a city similar to the way you do in Spider-Man 2. Spider-Man 2, more so than the follow up Spider-Man games, has always been one of my favorites for flying through the air.
