Fable Anniversary Coming In Early February 2014

by Mike Futter on Dec 12, 2013 at 02:11 AM

Fable fans will be able to relive their first adventure in Albion very soon. Lionhead Studios has announced the release date for HD makeover Fable Anniversary.

The new version for Xbox 360 comes with new audio, updated graphics, achievements, SmartGlass features, and the expanded “The Lost Chapters” content. Pre-orders include a special case and a code for the Launch Day Weapons & Outfits pack. First-run copies will also include a Lionhead helmet avatar item.

Fable Anniversary will be available on February 4, 2014, in the United States and February 7 in Europe. For more on what’s new in Fable Anniversary, check out a recent preview. We also have the first news on Fable Legends, a next-gen game in development at Lionhead.

Our Take
While the original Fable didn’t live up to the very lofty promises made by then-studio head Peter Molyneux, it was a delightful game on the original Xbox. I’ve played it twice, and this update might lure me back for a third run. Who knows, it might even inspire me to finally forgive the ending of Fable II and play the third game in the series.
